are three words often used to describe the teaching and speaking style of Janet Ables. Her in-depth knowledge of Scripture combined with her engaging story telling style inspires women to grasp the truth of God's Word. Her ability to weave together Scripture, personal stories, and spiritual insights makes her a popular retreat speaker. Throughout these weekends she touches the hearts of women of all ages with her transparency, warmth, and humor. Her passion is to teach women to know God more intimately and to follow Him more fully.
Janet has
been teaching and leading women in the church for over 20 years and has a
passion to help women identify and walk out the calling God has placed on their
lives. In 2015 she joined the staff of a global missions organization – Global
Sharing – where she is pioneering a women’s development tract known as the
Esther Movement. Through this ministry Janet serves, encourages and trains women both in the local church as well as around the world. Prior to her
ministry with the Esther Movement, Janet served as the Women's Ministry
Director at a large church on the Central Coast of California where she taught
weekly Bible studies, led a Mom2Mom program and invested in the next generation
of leaders.
Janet and her husband, Jay, are enjoying their partially
empty nest but still love spending time with their kids, Amy, Ashley, Austin, and Addison.
In addition to teaching and speaking both locally as well as internationally, Janet has written four Bible studies for women:
- Deceived: destroying the lie that we are not enough
- Faith Refined: how God uses hard things to refine our faith
- To Know Him By Name: exploring God's character through his names
- Love Beyond Measure: an attempt to measure the immeasureable
